Photovoltaic structural engineering
We design and verify PV structures across Europe
Rooftop and ground-mounted structures, audits, CFD, ballast calculations and documentation for demanding projects.
Capabilities
From initial assessment to implementation documentation
We combine structural experience with specialist knowledge of lightweight PV systems, wind, connections and existing roofs.
Service
Rooftop PV structures
We engineer ballasted, mechanically fixed and adhesively fixed systems for flat and pitched roofs. The design starts with building geometry, roof build-up, climatic loads and the actual capacity of the existing structure.
Service
Ground-mounted PV structures
We design fixed and non-standard structures for photovoltaic farms across Europe. Calculations follow Eurocodes and the relevant national annexes, including seismic locations.
Service
PV structure audits
An audit independently verifies a structure proposed by a supplier. We review input data and loading assumptions, then reproduce the calculation model in RFEM.
Service
CFD analysis
We use CFD where simplified code coefficients cannot reliably describe local wind flow, including tall buildings, stadiums and complex urban roofs.
Service
PV ballast calculations
Ballast should follow the actual distribution of wind effects rather than one value for the entire roof. We distinguish corner, edge and internal zones.
Service
Special PV structures
When standard systems cannot meet project geometry or performance requirements, we engineer trackers, inverter supports, elevated structures and adhesively fixed solutions.
