Srebrna Góra Fortress

PV structure on a new reinforced-concrete slab under snow-drift loads

The challenge

A continuous PV array on a new reinforced-concrete slab

The project involved a continuous surface of PV modules installed on a new reinforced-concrete slab. The support structure uses posts fixed to steel anchors. Snow drifts accumulating along the edge of the building represented an additional significant load.

Scope of work

  • verification of the support structure and PV modules
  • assessment of posts and steel anchors fixed to the slab
  • consideration of snow drifts along the building edge
  • review of load transfer to the reinforced-concrete slab

Project process

From the building geometry to PV structure verification

The starting point was the planned module layout as one continuous surface on a new reinforced-concrete slab. The support solution uses posts fixed to steel anchors.

The analysis also accounted for potential snow accumulation at the edge of the building. The verification covered both the support structure and PV modules under the additional snow-drift loads.
